FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – JUNE 27, 2012 – On June 24, 2012, in Coeur D’ Alene, Idaho, Dave Shula, President of Shula’s Steak Houses, LLLP and former NFL Player and Head Coach, completed his third IRONMAN event.
IRONMAN is a triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ending with a full-length marathon, 26.2-mile run. Competitors complete the three events in that order and without a break. The Ironman has a 17-hour maximum time-limit and all finishers must cross the finish line by midnight. More than 2,400 athletes raced this year at Coeur D’ Alene.
With the highest level of discipline developed on the field, playing and coaching, Dave applied his athletic expertise to his pre-IRONMAN training. “It’s been an advantage for me because I understand setting goals and then laying out a training schedule,” said Dave. “Having had that kind of background it was natural for me to build a base, work up to a peak period, then recover a week and repeat. It’s important to set up a schedule, and then stick to it.”

Dave Shula keeps busy by ensuring that the commitment to success through dedication, passion, and execution.
